Position Summary:
A group of Companies is seeking an experienced Manager Finance (Construction) to oversee and manage the financial operations of their construction business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, taxation, BOQ preparation, and compliance with local laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience in project-based financial management, and expertise in handling cost control both at individual businesses level as well as at group level.
Financial Management & Reporting:
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivables, and cash management.
• Ability to manage payment terms, advance payments, and retention money.
• Experience in financial evaluation of tenders and bidding processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, project profitability reports, and management reports.
• Understanding of construction contracts.
• Develop and monitor budgets for construction projects, ensuring cost control and profitability.
• Maintain relationships with banks for financing, guarantees, and project funding.
BOQ Preparation & Cost Estimation:
• Prepare and analyze Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.
• Work closely with the engineering and procurement teams to estimate project costs, materials, and labor requirements.
• Monitor project expenses against BOQs to ensure budget adherence.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Taxation & Compliance:
• Managing financial aspects of contractor and subcontractor agreements.
• Dealing with compliance, licenses, and construction-related financial regulations.
• Handle income tax filings, ensuring timely submissions to avoid penalties.
• Liaise with tax consultants and auditors for annual audits and tax planning.
Project Finance & Cost Control:
• Monitor project expenses and ensure proper cost allocation per project.
• Implement internal controls to prevent financial leakages and fraud.
Banking & Fund Management:
• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for loans, LC processing, and bank guarantees.
• Ensure smooth cash flow management by monitoring accounts payable & receivable cycles.
• Negotiate credit terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
Payroll & Employee Benefits:
• Oversee payroll processing, including compliance with regulations.
• Ensure proper record-keeping of employee benefits (if any).
ERP & Financial Systems:
• Implement and manage ERP/accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or customized software).
• Automate financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
Vendor & Supply Chain Financial Management:
• Managing payments to vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensuring timely procurement of materials without exceeding budget limits.
• Negotiating payment terms and credit limits with suppliers.
Technical Skills:
Excellent familiarity with IFRS, Pakistan Tax Laws, ERP software, and financial modeling.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical skill, leadership, and team management skills.
Languages:
Good command of English & Urdu.
